Privacy

Private by default, simple by design.

ProofPilot is built around selected text. It stays quiet until you ask it to clean up a sentence, paragraph, or rough note.

What ProofPilot sees

ProofPilot works on the text you select and invoke with Command + Shift + K. It is not designed to watch everything you type, add live underlines, or run continuous background suggestions.

Local correction

Default correction runs locally on your Mac for common spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar cleanup.

Recommended local AI

For stronger corrections and Formal mode, ProofPilot recommends Ollama with llama3.1:8b on your Mac. The setup is optional, runs locally, and is shown with its storage requirement before anything is downloaded.

Cloud services

Any cloud grammar or cloud AI feature is opt-in and labeled before use. ProofPilot does not quietly send selected writing to a cloud service.

Logging

ProofPilot does not log selected text by default. Local dictionaries, app settings, and setup state may be stored so the app can work normally.

Website ads and campaign links

The ProofPilot website uses Google Ads measurement to understand whether ads lead to visits and confirmed purchases. A campaign link may also include a standard source label, such as Google, Reddit, or direct outreach. If you continue to Stripe checkout, that label is passed to Stripe so we can tell which launch source led to a purchase. These website measurements do not contain selected text or writing from the app.

Your responsibility

ProofPilot can improve wording, but you should review important output before sending or saving it. Formal mode is a writing tool, not a substitute for your own judgment.
