Privacy
Private by default, simple by design.
ProofPilot is built around selected text. It should stay quiet until you ask it to clean up a sentence, paragraph, or rough note.
What ProofPilot sees
ProofPilot works on the text you select and invoke with Command + Shift + K. It is not designed to watch everything you type, add live underlines, or run continuous background suggestions.
Local correction
Default correction runs locally on your Mac for common spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar cleanup.
Optional Ollama
For stronger corrections and Formal mode, ProofPilot can use Ollama on your Mac. That path is optional and depends on a local model being installed.
Cloud services
Cloud grammar or cloud AI features must be opt-in. They should be clearly labeled before use. ProofPilot should not quietly send selected writing to a cloud service.
Logging
ProofPilot should not log selected text by default. Local dictionaries, app settings, and setup state may be stored so the app can work normally.
Your responsibility
ProofPilot can improve wording, but you should review important output before sending or saving it. Formal mode is a writing tool, not a substitute for your own judgment.
